![]() There's a few ways to get around this problem. The Colossus Voulges has a high strength requirement of 210. However, the Colossus Voulge is an exception. Most of the polearms have strength and dexterity requirements such that your mercenary can wear them in his level 80s. This means range is of no importance when deciding which polearm to equip your mercenary with. However, the rangeadder on the polearm you equip your mercenary with has absolutely no effect on his range (Source. For mercs with a lot of crushing blow the extra strike rate can be helpful but in general find your target IAS and go with a gpa or ca.Another variable on the polearms is their range. Threshers and giant threshers are typically about 1 frame ahead in attack speed (though gpa is as fast at certain IAS) but the added speed doesn't make up for the significant weapon damage drop (12% less than gpa, 18% less than ca). High damage mercs using ebotd and andy's should use a war pike for max damage instead of a gpa (15ias jewel in andy's is useless for this setup, the optimal breakpoint for ebotdwp is 80ias) A typical high-quality merc (eth fort, eth andy's with 15ias/30fire res jewel, and infinity/insight) will have 35ias and therefore a cryptic axe or colossus voulge will do the most damage per second. Great poleaxes do the most damage over the largest range of IAS, but ca/cv have max damage at important breakpoints. ![]() IAS WEAPON (gpa=great poleaxe,ca=cryptic axe,gt=giant thresher) Just found something to end all polearm debateĪct 2 merc base weapon selection (highest damage per second for every IAS)
